The Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) have implemented the transition of the telecommunications approval process from the CST platform to SASO's SABER platform.

On 20th November 2020, the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organisation (SASO) notified the WTO of a Draft Technical Regulation for Saudi Arabia RoHS requirements, with the aim to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The regulation also defines the conformity assessment procedure for RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) in Saudi Arabia.
