FCC Updates Emissions Rules for the 24 GHz Band

The FCC has updated emissions rules for the 24 GHz spectrum to align with international standards set by WRC-19. These changes aim to protect satellite-based weather and climate monitoring in the adjacent 23.6–24.0 GHz band. Immediate Phase 1 limits are in place, with stricter Phase 2 limits required for new equipment starting September 1, 2027.

Argentina publishes Resolution 237/2024.

On 16 September 2024, the Secretariat of Industry and Trade of the Ministry of Economy of the Argentine Republic published Resolution 237/2024, which approves the GENERAL CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT FRAMEWORK, establishing the obligation to follow the ‘Conformity Marking’ presented in the annex of the same resolution, being enforceable from 180 days after the entry into force of the Resolution. The Resolution also defines key aspects of the Conformity Assessment Bodies, the key aspects of Conformity Assessment, Specific Procedures, the mechanisms of Compliance Control, the Technical Consultation Channels and the Infractions and Fines associated with non-compliance.
