Iraq Introduces New Regulation for Devices Operating in the 446.0-446.2 MHz Band.

The Communications and Media Commission (CMC) of Iraq has issued a new regulation, TR12 (First Edition), establishing the controls for the use of the frequency band 446.0-446.2 MHz by PMR446 devices. This regulation aims to align the use of short-range communication equipment with international standards.

Key Technical Specifications:
  • - Frequency Range: 446.0 – 446.2 MHz
  • - Maximum Output Power: 0.5 Watts ERP
  • - Channel Bandwidth: 12.5 kHz (16 channels)
  • - Antenna: Must be an integral and non-detachable part of the device.

Type Approval Requirements:
All PMR446 devices intended for the Iraqi market must obtain Type Approval from the CMC prior to importation. To secure approval, equipment must demonstrate conformity with the standard ETSI EN 300 296 or an equivalent.
