USA FCC Updates Radio Frequency Allocation Framework

18-DEC-25

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a new Report and Order finalizing changes to the United States Table of Frequency Allocations. This action aligns U.S. spectrum policy with outcomes agreed at the ITU World Radiocommunication Conference in 2015 (WRC-15).

The amendments introduce updates affecting several radio services, including amateur radio operations, various satellite service bands, and frequencies used for audio and television broadcast auxiliary stations. By incorporating these international decisions, the FCC aims to ensure regulatory consistency, improve spectrum efficiency, and support evolving communication technologies.

These updates provide greater clarity for licensees and spectrum users while reinforcing the United States’ commitment to global spectrum harmonization. The revised table serves as the authoritative reference for how radio frequencies are assigned and protected across different services nationwide.
