14-APR-26

The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) of the Philippines has announced a significant change to its operational structure, adopting a 4-day compressed workweek. This initiative is part of a broader effort by the national government to enhance energy conservation across official departments.
New Operational Hours
Under the new arrangement, the NTC will operate with extended daily hours during the first four days of the week, while remaining closed on Fridays:
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Friday: Closed (No onsite work)
Effective Date
This new schedule is set to take effect on 09 March 2026.
Impact on Radio Type Approval
Manufacturers should be aware of the practical implications this change will have on the regulatory process in the Philippines:
  • Logistics: Onsite application filings and the delivery of physical test samples must be coordinated strictly within the new Monday-to-Thursday window.
  • Lead Times: While the daily hours are longer, the lack of Friday operations may result in shifts in overall certification turnaround times.
  • Communication: Project follow-ups and technical inquiries with NTC officers will be restricted to the four-day onsite period.
Planning for these shifts is essential to ensure that product launch timelines remain unaffected. For a detailed analysis of how this change might impact your specific regulatory roadmap, please consult with our team.
