At Eleos, we are committed to making our contributions go further. We are thrilled that our recent £9,000 donation to Rainforest Trust has had a powerful multiplier effect. When matched, our gift permanently safeguarded a total of 2,052 acres of biodiverse primary forest in the Crown Jewel of Papua, Indonesia.
Beyond this direct impact, our donation played a key role in a match-pot that successfully engaged a new funder, securing an additional £100k pledge for the project. This strategic approach ensures our support has the greatest possible impact on global conservation.
100% of this funding helps Rainforest Trust and their local partner, Ecosystem Nusantara Foundation (EcoNusa), to support the establishment of 120,000 acres as Customary or Village Forests. This initiative legally recognizes the ownership and management rights for three Indigenous communities, allowing them to protect their traditional territories.
