The TA Technical Standard Regulation 2021 was published in the official Gazette.

Further to Eleos update from 11th of March 2021, The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has published the draft Type Approval Technical Standard Regulation 2021 in the official Gazette on the 13th of September 2021.
 
This means that from the above date, PTA Type Approval is also required for all of the following newly added product groups:

1. Tablet PC with WLAN only functionality (Non-Sim based devices).
2. Smart watches with Bluetooth/WLAN functionality only (Without Sim or tracking features).
3. Ultra Wide Band devices as a device category requiring Type Approval in Pakistan.

The Utility Regulation and Competition Office (OfReg) of the Cayman Islands published a Regulatory Notice in December 2025 clarifying the types of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) networks and services that require licensing under the Information and Communications Technology Act (2019 Revision).
