MCMC have announced the following guidance for the certification and renewal of 3G devices that also support other technologies (2G, 4G and 5G), since the 3G network in Malaysia was terminated on 31 December 2021:

  1. For renewals, devices can be renewed without any changes and the 3G feature will continue to be included on the CoC.
  2. For new certifications, since the products cannot use the 3G network any longer, applicants can voluntarily request to include 3G feature on the new CoC and provide the report as specified in the Technical Code, SKMM WTS IMT-MT.
