ANATEL publish Act No. 237

The Brazilian Regulator, ANATEL, have published Act No. 237 which updates the Test Procedures for Assessing the Conformity of Restricted Radiation Radiocommunication Equipment. The new Act No. 237 revokes the previous Act No. 6506.

The new Act is similar the the previous Act, however, some of the changes include test procedures for the following:

  1. Wideband equipment operating in 5925~7125 MHz;
  2. Level detector sensor-radar;
  3. Vehicular Communication Systems;
  4. Systems operating in 57~71 GHz (Wireless Multigigabit Systems);
5. RLAN (LBE and FBE) equipment

NICTA Update on Type Approval Certificate Validity

Papua New Guinea’s National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has updated its type approval process. Certificates issued through the new Type Approval Online System (TAOS) from 2025 will now have a standardized three-year validity. Certificates issued between 2022 and 2025 have been reissued to align with this validity period, while certificates issued before 2022 are considered expired and require renewal through a formal application.
