As of February 14, 2025, Bermuda’s Regulatory Authority (RA) has exempted devices operating solely on Bluetooth or Wi-Fi frequencies from type approval requirements.

Individual type approval applications are no longer necessary. However, manufacturers and importers must ensure their products comply with the technical and regulatory standards set by international bodies such as:

  • FCC (Federal Communications Commission, USA)
  • ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada)
  • ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute)
