Regulatory Updates for Eswatini
Regulatory Testing introduced for WWAN Mobile Terminals in Eswatini
As part of stricter enforcement of existing regulations governing Type Approval, the Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM) have introduced regulatory testing for all WWAN mobile terminal devices, including smartphones, tablets and mobile computers. One as-sold sample will be required for such equipment.
The recently introduced sample testing requirements have always been mandated by National-level regulation "Electronic Communications (Radio Communications and Frequency Spectrum) Regulations, 2016", though not been enforced in practice.
Eleos Compliance have confirmed with ESCCOM that no further changes have been made to existing Type Approval regulation.
