The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has introduced a new Self-Declaration of Conformity service as part of Oman’s Type Approval System. The initiative supports TRA’s efforts to modernise the telecommunications equipment approval framework, streamline procedures, and improve service efficiency for beneficiaries.

Through this service, the type approval process is accelerated by enabling applicants to submit an official declaration confirming that their devices comply with the approved technical and regulatory standards, without the need to attach technical test reports in advance. This approach is intended to reduce the time required to complete approval procedures.

We are awaiting further guidance from TRA and will be providing a service to accommodate the new scheme shortly.
