USA FCC Issues Reminder on Communications Equipment and Services on the Covered List

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a National Security Advisory that communications equipment and services included on the FCC’s Covered List have been determined to pose unacceptable risks to U.S. national security. Such equipment and services, often tied to foreign adversaries, particularly the Chinese government, may enable surveillance, network disruption, and other national security threats.
 
Entities are urged to: 
  • - Review the FCC’s Covered List before purchasing or using any communications equipment or services.
  • - Avoid use, importation, marketing, sale, or provision of equipment from entities on the list.

The Covered List includes equipment and services from:
  • - Huawei Technologies Company
  • - ZTE Corporation
  • - Hytera Communications Corporation
  • - Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Company
  • - Dahua Technology Company
  • - AO Kaspersky Lab
  • - China Mobile International USA Inc.
  • - China Telecom (Americas) Corp.
  • - Pacific Networks Corp. and ComNet (USA) LLC
  • - China Unicom (Americas) Operations Limited
