USA FCC Services Return After Extended Government Shutdown

After an unprecedented 43-day closure, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has begun resuming its operations. The agency announced that services will be restored gradually rather than all at once.
Access to the FCC ID Search Database has already been reinstated, giving users the ability to look up existing authorizations again. However, several other tools - such as the OET Laboratory Division’s Knowledge Database (KDB) - remain offline while systems continue to come back online.

As part of the staged recovery, the FCC confirmed that the Equipment Authorization System (EAS) will not be available until Thursday, November 18. Until that date, applicants will not be able to submit new equipment authorization filings.
The shutdown, which stretched significantly beyond the previous 25-day record, has created delays across the regulatory landscape. A timely and complete restoration of all FCC systems will be crucial to reducing further disruption for manufacturers, testing laboratories, and global markets that rely on U.S. regulatory approvals.
