Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission conducted a public consultation this summer on the draft "Amendments to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of machinery and equipment" (TR CU 010/2011)", proposing important changes that also affect EAEU TR 020/2011 on EMC and 004/2011 on Safety.

The main changes are aimed at clarifying and/or amending the following sections of the regulations:

  • - Scope of applications of the TR.
  • - List of products subject to TR.
  • - Definitions.
  • - A set of documents supplied with the equipment.
  • - Lists of standards.

The Draft is expected to come into effect on 1st of December 2021 (6 months from official publication), however no official date was yet confirmed, and it is likely to be pushed out into 2022.

It is expected that transition period will be also given for the products that will no longer require Type Approval under TR 010/2011 and would need to prove compliance under 020/2011 and/or 004/2011 (e.g. household appliances for home use only, audio and video equipment and other).
