The National Communications Commission of Taiwan has published an update of the “Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Regulation” (LP0002) which came into force on 6 February 2024.

This update amends paragraph 5 of the previous regulation, adding a new section (5.13) which establishes the technical requirements under which, from now on, Wireless Access Systems including Radio Local Area Network (WAS/RLANs) operating in the 6GHz band must be ruled.

This amendment to LP0002 considers the use of the U-NII-5 band (5.945 - 6.425 GHz) in the country and also establishes technical requirements such as Operating Frequency, Transmitted Power limit, Spectral Power Density limitations, Out-of-Band Emissions, etc... for devices intended to operate in that band through classifications such as LPI, VLP, NB, Wideband... which will determine which technical requirements/restrictions will be applied to the device based on its classification.
