GB 31241-2022 to replace GB 31241-2014 for China CCC certification

On February 27th 2023, China CQC issued a notice advising that GB 31241-2022: Safety Technical Specifications for Lithium-ion Batteries and Battery Packs for Portable Electronic Products, will replace the current GB 31241-2014 standard.

The new standard, GB 31241-2022, will be effective from 01st January 2024. From now until 31st December 2023, manufacturers can still obtain certification to the old standard if they want to.

Canada ISED Amends RSS-119 Issue 12

On July 28, 2025, the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada amended Radio Standards Specification RSS-119, Issue 12. This standard pertains to Land Mobile and Fixed Equipment operating in the 27.41-960 MHz frequency range. The key update is to Section 5.6, which now applies to equipment using an occupied bandwidth that is larger than the authorized bandwidth specified in the Standard Radio System Plan (SRSP).
