Papua New Guinea approve frequency bands 700 MHz, 71–76 and 81–86 GHz

On 25th November 2020, Nation Information & Communications Technology (NICTA) of Papua New Guinea published an approved bands plan for the use of the frequency bands 700 MHz, 71–76 & 81–86 GHz. The notices are published in line with ITU Radio Regulations of WRC-15 and provisions for ITU Region 3.
 
NICTA issued two notices; the first covering the frequency plan and channelling arrangements for the 700MHz band. The 700 MHz band plan relates to the spectrum between 698–806 MHz and is planned to support IMT and IMT based mobile broadband applications.
 
The second notice covers the band plan and channelling arrangement in the 71-76GHz and 81-86GHz frequency range, including fixed wireless systems, radiolocation services and automotive radar applications among others.

The new frequency bands are open for use and equipment operating on these frequency bands can now be approved in Papua New Guinea.
