Posted by Admin in Panama - 16-OCT-24
The  Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Públicos (ASEP) of Panama has announced the launch of a public consultation aimed at gathering opinions on the proposed modifications to the National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF).

The proposed modifications include:

The designation of the 2.5 GHz band (2500-2690 MHz) and the 3.5 GHz band (3300-3600 MHz) for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT), with an exclusive focus on mobile cellular services.
The allocation of the 3600-3800 MHz band for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), thus facilitating connectivity in areas where wired options are limited.
The designation of the 2.3 GHz band (2300-2400 MHz) for Private Broadband Wireless Access Networks, allowing companies to establish their own communication networks.
The inclusion of the 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 24 GHz, and 57 GHz bands as unlicensed bands, promoting innovation and access to emerging technologies.
The designation of the 6 GHz band (5925-7125 MHz) for unlicensed use, restricted exclusively to indoor environments.
