The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority invites all stakeholders to participate in the public consultation on the draft technical regulations for internet-connected vehicles, as part of the Authority’s efforts to enhance data protection and privacy, strengthen cybersecurity, and keep pace with digital transformation in the transport and smart vehicle sector.
The consultation also aims to promote local added value, ensure the availability of secure and reliable infrastructure, and support workforce development and the building of qualified national capabilities.
The draft regulations cover several key areas, including telecommunications SIM cards, emergency communications and roadside assistance services, data governance, technical infrastructure, as well as disclosure and reporting requirements.
Stakeholders can submit their views and feedback through the designated online consultation questionnaire. The consultation was published on 11 August 2026 and will close on 1 September 2026. The Authority will review the responses, opinions, and comments received; however, it is not obligated to adopt all submitted feedback.
