The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) of Mexico has announced a significant change: the entry into force of the IFT Seal requirement has been postponed from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2027.

This decision comes in the context of the Organic Simplification Decree, which outlines the future dissolution of the IFT and the transfer of its regulatory functions to a new authority yet to be designated. To provide legal certainty to manufacturers, distributors, and importers, and to avoid complications during this institutional transition, the implementation deadline for the seal has been extended.

Key Points:
  • The IFT Seal will not be mandatory in 2025, as originally planned.
  • The new effective date is July 1, 2027.
  • Until then, including the seal on the labeling of homologated products will not be required.
