Public Consultation on IFT Seal Usage Guidelines for Approved Products

14-AUG-23

The Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) is inviting the public to contribute to its "Draft Guidelines for the Use of the IFT Seal on Homologated Telecommunications or Broadcasting Products, Equipment, Devices, or Apparatus." This initiative aligns with IFT's commitment to transparency in regulatory processes. The goal is to gather feedback, comments, and suggestions from individuals and entities interested in this regulatory proposal.

The proposed guidelines aim to introduce an identifiable visual element in the marking or labeling of products that have been certified. Additionally, there is an intention to establish specific provisions that regulate the use of the IFT Seal by those holding homologation certificates, as well as by importers, subsidiaries, and affiliates. The most significant change lies in the mandatory inclusion of the IFT logo, the mention of "IFT," and the homologation number on all products that have received the Institute's approval. It is important to note that products that obtained approval prior to the implementation of the guidelines, as well as those already in the certification process, are exempt from this requirement.

The consultation period extends from August 4, 2023, to October 2, 2023, covering 60 days. You can find the official publication at the following link.
