22-OCT-24

Following the issuance of new labeling guidelines by the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) on January 9, 2024, and a public consultation on compliance marks initiated on June 14, 2024, the IFT has now published a new document on October 2, 2024, titled "Agreement by which the Plenary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications modifies the guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal on products, equipment, devices, or apparatus intended for homologated telecommunications or broadcasting." This document introduces key modifications to the guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal. The main changes are:

  1. E-labelling allowed / permitted: In addition to physical printing, the IFT Seal can now be used digitally, allowing greater flexibility for products of different sizes.
  2. Display on small products: If a product is too small to display the seal physically, it can be included in the product manual, either in physical or digital form.
  3. Product variety consideration: The guidelines now take into account different types of products, including those without screens or that are not visible to the end user, ensuring all products comply with regulations.

These changes will take effect on July 1, 2025, giving companies time to adjust their production lines and processes. Find the official document in the following link.
