Mexico IFT Publishes Disposición Técnica IFT-017-2023

Regulation IFT-017-2023 partially replaces "Disposición Técnica IFT-008-2015 ONLY for the 5725 MHz - 5850 MHz band and only for equipment using digital modulation.

IFT-017-2023 Establishes technical specifications, test methods, and conformity assessment procedures for equipment operating in the 5150 MHz-6425 MHz bands.

It includes restrictions on indoor use for certain device types operating in the 5925 MHz - 6425 MHz band. It also states devices must not cause harmful interference to authorized users and are not protected from interference from other legal sources.

Equipment must include IFT markings and homologation numbers as specified in the official Mexican standard, complying with the most recent version of the Lineamientos para la Homologación.

The regulation comes into effect on November 7, 2025

NICTA Update on Type Approval Certificate Validity

Papua New Guinea’s National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has updated its type approval process. Certificates issued through the new Type Approval Online System (TAOS) from 2025 will now have a standardized three-year validity. Certificates issued between 2022 and 2025 have been reissued to align with this validity period, while certificates issued before 2022 are considered expired and require renewal through a formal application.
