Brief Suspension of IFT Approvals

17-JUL-25

Effective July 17, 2025, Mexico's new Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law has entered into force, officially dissolving the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT).

As the new Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) is formed, the law mandates an immediate five-business-day suspension for all IFT approval applications, with a broader 15-day suspension for other regulatory proceedings.

While ongoing applications will be transferred to the new CRT and existing regulations remain valid for now, manufacturers face a temporary halt on new certifications.

Interested parties should continue to monitor Eleos Compliance News and Updates or official CRT announcements regarding the staggered resumption of services and the release of new type approval procedures.
