Reminder - IFT-012-2019 coming into force in Mexico on 26th February 2021

From 26th February 2021, IFT-012-2019 will come into effect in Mexico mandating in-country SAR test requirements for mobile terminal equipment.
 
IFT-012-2019 is in line with IEC 62209-1  and IEC 62209-2 and prescribes the maximum limits for specific absorption rate of human exposure to RF fields for wireless devices used next to the ear and in close proximity to the body.
 
IFT-012-2019 is applicable to products operating within the frequency range of 30 MHz to 6 GHz and that are used :
 
·        Near the head, particularly near the ear, in the frequency range of 300 MHz to 6 GHz, and / or
·        At a distance less than or equal to 200 mm from the human body, in the frequency range from 30 MHz to 6 GHz.
