ARE publishes Short Range Devices Guidelines

21-NOV-25

Mauritania’s SRD framework defines precise limits for frequency bands, output power,  channelization, and other RF characteristics applicable to low-power, short-range devices. These parameters, detailed in the Guidelines, cover applications such as Wireless Access Systems, RFID, telemetry, wireless microphones, inductive systems, and motion-detection sensors.

The Guidelines permit SRDs to be operated freely only when they strictly comply with the authorized technical thresholds.

Importantly, Mauritania requires type approval for SRDs before they can be imported, marketed, or sold in the country.  This ensures conformity with the defined RF parameters and enables the regulator to remove or sanction non-compliant equipment to protect spectrum integrity.
