27-JAN-25

ANRT have published a new type approval decision introducing changes to labelling requirements for ANRT-approved equipment. A new label was published in the regulation.

There are no specific instructions regarding the label size, font and text size. The label is to be affixed in a visible, legible and indelible manner on the equipment itself. If not possible due to the size of equipment, it may be affixed on the accompanying documentation, on the product packaging or e-label.

For any approved or authorized equipment whose emission power is greater than 20 mW and which is intended to be used at a maximum of 20 cm from the user, the information on the specific absorption rate (SAR) must be also now be indicated. This must be clear and legible and listed on the equipment, in the supporting documentation (user instructions, user manual), on its packaging or e-label. This obligation comes into force from May 1, 2025. This requirement impacts many product types including mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, cellular routers and modems, laptops and more.
