MCMC permitted the certification of IMT Bands.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has officially permitted the certification of IMT Band 79 (5G N79), IMT Band 31 (LTE B31) and IMT Band 39 (LTE B39). Announcement was published via SQASI/CMCS/1/25/0004 on 3rd of September 2025.

 

Frequency Range (MHz)

IMT Bands 79 (5G N79): 4700 – 4800

IMT Band 31 (LTE B31): 452.5 - 457.5 and 462.5 - 467.5

IMT Band 39 (LTE B39): 1900 - 1915

 

Usage/ Restriction Condition:

IMT Band 79 and 31: Allocated for AA licensees operating in Private network services

IMT Band 39: Intended to provide wireless telecommunication connectivity for railway radio communications. This includes mission-critical services, group communications, voice, video, images, and high-speed data.

 

Certification Requirements:

IMT Bands 79: must be in compliance with the SRSP MS 4700 and Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC T016:2021.

IMT Band 31: must be in compliance with the SRSP MS 450 and Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC T015:2022.

and

IMT Band 39: must be in full compliance with SRSP MS 1900 and Technical Code MCMC MTSFB TC T015:2022 and all application shall be with a declaration letter informing that it is exclusively for railway radiocommunication.

 
The certification applies only to AA or Apparatus Assignment, which requires individual licensing for specific users or organizations (like Private Networks, mission-critical services). It will not directly affect Class Assignment applications as it permits users to operate specific bands or radio devices without the need for Individual application or licensing
