The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued new technical guidance addressing compliance and testing considerations for devices operating in frequency bands above 95 GHz. The guidance is intended to support equipment manufacturers and accredited test laboratories working with millimeter-wave and sub-terahertz technologies.

This document clarifies acceptable approaches for measuring radiated emissions at extremely high frequencies, where traditional testing methods may not be sufficient. As innovation expands into higher spectrum ranges, the FCC aims to ensure that measurement practices remain accurate, repeatable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.

By providing this guidance, the FCC seeks to promote consistency in equipment authorization processes while supporting the development of next-generation wireless, sensing, and imaging applications. The guidance reflects the agency’s broader effort to prepare regulatory frameworks for emerging high-frequency technologies.
