CITRA announces discontinuation of 3G network by 1 June 2025

Kuwait Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) on 1 September 2024 published a regulatory resolution number 2024/278 regarding phasing out of 3G network by 1 June 2025. This will enable CITRA to redirect resources to expand and enhance 4G and 5G services.

Mobile telecommunications companies are obligated to ensure the continuity of access of devices and users of the services of the third generation networks to connect to one of the second, fourth or fifth generation mobile networks or some or all of these networks after 1 June 2025.
