On March 6, 2026, India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) released a notification detailing the compliance obligations for enabling operation in the 5925–6425 MHz spectrum band under its updated regulatory framework.
The notice applies to stakeholders that already hold valid ETA approvals for equipment technically capable of operating in the 5925–6425 MHz range, but whose existing certification only covers the 2.4–2.4835 GHz band and/or the 5 GHz band.

According to the notification, affected parties must complete the required regulatory steps to obtain authorisation for the additional band. The deadline for completing these steps is April 5, 2026.

Until a new ETA certificate covering the 5925–6425 MHz band is issued, the band cannot be switched on, activated, or used in commercial or operational deployments.
