Procedure to follow in absence of GLN number published by Russian Government

Further to Eleos Regulatory update from 16th of March 2021, Russian Government have since published a Decree No. 936 clarifying procedure to follow in case of Global Location Number (GLN) absence, as well as postponed implementation dates for its application, as well as other important procedural changes.

Most important changes to note are as follows:

- Manufacturers can now choose whether to list either GLN or geographical coordinates or other ID of the manufacturer's location, its branches and production sites.
- Implementation date for providing the above identification sources have been postponed to 01.09.2021.
- Implementation date for providing a copy of agreement between accredited test lab and applicant prior to sample shipping has been also postponed until 01.09.2021.

Please be reminded that this change affects only EAC CoC and DoC applications that are submitted using Certification Bodies registered on the Russia Federation territory.

NICTA Update on Type Approval Certificate Validity

Papua New Guinea’s National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has updated its type approval process. Certificates issued through the new Type Approval Online System (TAOS) from 2025 will now have a standardized three-year validity. Certificates issued between 2022 and 2025 have been reissued to align with this validity period, while certificates issued before 2022 are considered expired and require renewal through a formal application.
