The main changes in these two regulations compared with the former ones are listed below:

For RFID [Regulation No. (2024) 76]:
- 800MHz RFID band removed from its use.
- Specific 900MHz RFID band -divided into 3 different frequency ranges with different requirements- has been enabled for RFID.
- The spurious emission limit on some specific frequency has been modified (TX mode).
- New test item "Receiver blocking limit" added.

For UWB [Regulation No. (2024) 77]:
- The 7163-8812MHz band is enabled for its use by ultra-wideband (UWB) radio transmitting equipment -equipment with a transmit signal bandwidth (bandwidth -10dB) of not less than 500MHz-, mainly used in short-distance high-speed wireless data communication, positioning, ranging, perception and other fields.
- The remaining parts of the 5.925-10.6GHz band that were covered by the old regulation are now specified as band edge emission and their requirements will vary depending on the band segment (5.925-7.125GHz; 7.125-7.136GHz; 8.812-9GHz; 9-10.6GHz).
- UWB equipment is prohibited from being used within 1 km around radio astronomy observatories and on aircraft equipment (including unmanned aircraft).
- The spurious emission limit on some specific frequency has been modified (TX mode).
- The spurious emission for the general frequency range has been decreased (TX mode).
- The spurious emission for the general frequency range has been decreased (RX and IDLE modes).

The new RFID regulation will come into force on 1 November 2024, while the new UWB regulation will be on 1 August 2025. Existing regulations [RFID: Regulation No. (2007) 205 & UWB: Regulation No. (2008) 354] will be both withdrawn, allowing existing compliant equipment to apply for type-approval or its extension until these dates respectively. After the corresponding dates, only RFID/UWB equipment that complies with the new criteria will be type-approved, and already certified devices can continue to be used until they are removed from service.
