Chilean regulator SUBTEL has published a modification to the RESOLUCIÓN N° 1.985 EXENTA, of 2017. Updating it to accommodate devices that make use of WiFi 6 standard.

Key changes are :-

Power output for short range devices in the 5150 to 5250 MHz band has been increased from 250 mW to 1W and maximum permitted radiated power density has been increased from 10 mW/MHz to 17 mW/MHz.

Also devices operating in the 5925 to 7125 MHz frequency band can be used indoors if they comply with a maximum EIRP of 30 dBm and a maximum spectral density of 5 dBm / MHz.

Low Power access points may only have fixed internal antennas, connectors to external antennas are not permitted. They must not be battery operated, nor should there be an option to do so.
End user terminal devices connected to such access points should operate with a maximum EIRP of  24 dBm  and  a maximum spectral density of  -1 dBm / MHz

International accreditation requirements for testing labs have been reduced from 2 to 1.
