MIC issue draft Circular to replace 11/2020/TT-BTTTT and 01/2021/TT-BTTTT

The Vietnamese Regulator, MIC, have issued a draft Circular to replace 11/2020/TT-BTTTT and 01/2021/TT-BTTTT, which outlines new products requiring Type Approval and Declaration of Conformity. The new Circular will be in force from 01 July 2022.

The main additions are the new QCVN technical standards as follows:

  1. QCVN 22:2021/BTTTT (safety of ICT products)
  2. QCVN 65:2021/BTTTT (5GHz WLAN) - the new standard can be applied from 01 July 2022, and will be mandatory from 01 July 2023.
  3. QCVN 123:2020/BTTTT (devices operating in 40 GHz - 246 GHz band)
  4. QCVN 124:2021/BTTTT (Radar in 76GHz - 77GHz)
  5. QCVN 127:2021/BTTTT (Standalone 5G User Equipment)
  6. QCVN 129:2021/BTTTT (Non-standalone 5G User Equipment)

NICTA Update on Type Approval Certificate Validity

Papua New Guinea’s National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has updated its type approval process. Certificates issued through the new Type Approval Online System (TAOS) from 2025 will now have a standardized three-year validity. Certificates issued between 2022 and 2025 have been reissued to align with this validity period, while certificates issued before 2022 are considered expired and require renewal through a formal application.
