New Directive amending the RED to include requirements on charging interfaces

On 7th of December 2022, the European Parliament and the Council of European Union published the new Directive (EU) 2022/2380 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 November 2022 amending Directive 2014/53/EU on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of radio equipment. 

This new directive includes requirements for charging interfaces and charging communication protocols and introduce requirements for the power supply of certain categories of radio equipment without charging devices.

This new Directive will enter into force on 27/12/2022.
