Public Consultation regarding IMT frequency bands

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has initiated a public consultation regarding the draft announcement on the criteria and methods for licensing spectrum for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) businesses. This encompasses various frequency bands, including 850 MHz, 1500 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 26 GHz, 1427-1517 MHz, 1920 - 1980/2110 - 2170 MHz, 2010 - 2025 MHz and the 2300 – 2400 MHz band.

The public consultation can be found here, and is open for comments until 20th February 2025.

Venezuela Updates Type Approval Certificate Validity Under SIGESTEL

CONATEL, through the SIGESTEL platform, has updated the validity framework for type approval certificates in Venezuela. While certificates issued during the initial SIGESTEL implementation phase were standardized to a one-year validity period, newly issued certificates are now being granted with indefinite validity. Existing certificates will remain valid until their expiry date, after which new applications submitted through SIGESTEL will be issued under the updated framework.

India BIS Scheme-II Licence and Fee Update

BIS has revised the Scheme-II licence framework under the 2026 Conformity Assessment amendment. Licences and renewals may now be valid for up to five years, but annual advance fee payments and production statement submissions remain compulsory for continued operation.
