UK announces indefinite extension to use of CE Marking

01-AUG-23

The Department of Business and Trade of the United Kingdom has announced an indefinite extension of the use of the CE marking for companies. This measure is part of a strategy to reduce costs and time in product marketing, benefiting both businesses and consumers.

The combined use of the CE marking and UKCA creates opportunities for trade in the UK and the European Union. UKCA marking was introduced following the UK's decision to leave the European Union as a national-level compliance requirement for all wireless and electronic products. With the new announcement, CE marking will remain valid for an indefinite period with the UKCA marking optional.
