25-APR-25

The updated guidelines, which replace the previous versions—particularly those from 2015 and 2005—introduce the following key changes:
- Certificate Validity: The validity period of the Type Approval Certificate has been reduced from 10 years to 3 years. Renewals will follow the same conditions as a new approval application.
- Certificate Content: The certificate now includes detailed information on product specifications, applicable standards, and relevant administrative details.
- Exemption from Approval: Certain equipment types, such as sound broadcasting equipment and devices intended for national defence or public security, are now exempt from the type approval requirement.
- Regulatory Fee Schedule: The fee schedule has been revised to include an application fee and a sample testing fee (where applicable), in addition to the technology dependant approval fee.
- Validity of Existing Certificates: Certificates issued under the previous regulations will remain valid until their stated expiry dates.
