The Federal Institute of Telecommunications (IFT) has launched a Public Consultation directed at all interested parties to provide feedback on a regulatory proposal related to the IFT Seal, which identifies telecommunications and broadcasting products that have been properly homologated in Mexico.
The IFT seeks to modify the effective date of the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal, proposing that this obligation begin on July 1, 2027. The goal of this modification is to:
- Provide greater clarity and certainty to manufacturers, distributors, marketers, and importers of homologated equipment.
- Give manufacturers, importers, distributors, and marketers more preparation time.
- Align the effective date with the structural changes resulting from the constitutional reform on organizational simplification, published in December 2024.
- Temporarily safeguard the vector file of the seal until the regulatory authority defines its use.
