Japan MIC Proposes Updates for TPMS & RKE (433 MHz Band)

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has announced a partial amendment (ref. G/TBT/N/JPN/840) relevant to TPMS and RKE equipment. 

What’s changing: 
  • - Frequency band expansion: TPMS and RKE devices would be allowed to operate in 433.05–434.79 MHz, with adoption planned for June 2026.
  • - Simplified requirements: Current conditions tied to the equipment enclosure would be eliminated under the revised Radio Equipment Regulation and related Public Notice.
