SDPPI issue new 5G NR technical standard

The Indonesian Directorate General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Information Technology (SDPPI) has issued the new Technical Requirement PERDIRGEN No. 5/2021 for 5G (IMT-2020).

The regulation details the requirements and frequency bands for use of 5G NR equipment in Indonesia. The permitted frequency bands for 5G NR are as follows:

  • N1 - 1920 MHz - 1980 MHZ (Uplink), 2110 MHz- 2170 MHz (Downlink)
  • N3 - 1710 MHz - 1785 MHZ (Uplink), 1805 MHz- 1880 MHz (Downlink)
  • N5 - 824 MHz - 849 MHZ (Uplink), 869 MHz- 894 MHz (Downlink)
  • N8 - 880 MHz - 915 MHZ (Uplink), 925 MHz- 960 MHz (Downlink)
  • N40 - 2300 MHz – 2400 MHz (TDD)
 
This technical requirement is already in force, as of 3rd May 2021. Equipment seeking SDPPI type approval in the bands listed above should go through the usual type approval process.
