The General Superintendence of Electricity and Telecommunications (Siget) has issued a resolution that will allow the use of WiFi 6E networks by fully freeing up the 6 GHz band. The decision classifies the entire 6 GHz band (5.925 to 7.125 MHz) as "Unlicensed," paving the way for the implementation of faster and more efficient WiFi networks. However, the resolution restricts its use to indoor environments. This measure aims to ensure efficient and secure use of the frequency spectrum. With this decision, Siget promotes the advancement of wireless communications in the country and encourages the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
