This regulation modifies the technical standards for short-range radio equipment. It aims to streamline the certification process, primarily due to the increase in certification requests for consumer electronics using 5G and IoT technologies. The regulation reserves certification for medical applications only, while for other equipment categories, it aims to facilitate user access to technical characteristics via a QR code.
Manufacturers or importers must verify that their radio emissions comply with all applicable telecommunications regulations. This requires obtaining a test report demonstrating compliance. The manufacturer/importer must also include a QR code on the product packaging, linking to a website with specific information detailed below. All equipment must comply with the requirements of Resolución Exenta N° 3.103, de 2012 regarding electromagnetic safety.
A QR code must be placed on the exterior of the equipment packaging. The QR code must link to a website (in Spanish) containing the following information:
