This document summarizes the first successful trial of mobile services using the upper 6 GHz (U6GHz) band in Egypt, conducted by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in partnership with Telecom Egypt and Huawei. ### Scope The initiative focuses on testing the U6GHz band to support the advancement of digital infrastructure, 5G, and next-generation technologies. The NTRA has formally integrated this band into its long-term national spectrum plan (2030–2035) to ensure the availability of resources for evolving telecommunications needs. ### Key Technical Requirements and Performance * **Performance Metrics:** The trial involved the deployment of the first cellular base station operating on the U6GHz band, achieving data transmission speeds of approximately 1.7 Gbps per user. * **Operational Objectives:** The band is intended to support high-capacity mobile services, particularly for data-intensive applications such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, virtual/augmented reality, and cloud computing. * **Strategic Planning:** The national spectrum plan for this band is designated to be updated every five years to align with market requirements and ongoing technological developments.
