TRC Cambodia: Authorization Letter Requirements for Type Approval
The Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) has clarified the documentation requirements necessary to establish a clear chain of authorization for Type Approval (TA) applications. These requirements are intended to verify the relationships between manufacturers, qualified agents, importers, and testing laboratories.
Mandatory Authorization Documents
Applicants must provide an agreement or an authorization letter issued directly by the manufacturer of the trademarked product. This documentation must explicitly demonstrate one of the following:
Authorization for a TRC Qualified Agent to proceed with the Type Approval application on the manufacturer's behalf.
Designation of the actual importer for the product within Cambodia.
Requirements for Testing Laboratory Involvement
In cases where a testing laboratory acts on behalf of the manufacturer, additional supporting documents are required to establish the relationship between all parties involved. These include:
An authorization letter from the manufacturer to the testing laboratory.
An authorization letter or service agreement between the testing laboratory and the TRC Qualified Agent.
Scope of Application
These documentation requirements are mandatory for the following:
All new Type Approval applications submitted to the TRC.
All existing applications currently under review by the regulator.
The TRC provides a standard "Designation/Authorization Letter" template to ensure compliance with these requirements and to facilitate the verification of the relationship chain among all stakeholders in the certification process.
