This document identifies the technical requirements for expanding Beam Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) systems in the 920 MHz band to include outdoor use. It outlines technical conditions for operation on premises as specified low-power radio stations, supporting applications like wireless sensor powering.
Standard
This standard identifies the technical requirements for the outdoor application of Beam Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) systems operating in the 920 MHz band. These systems are designed to transmit power wirelessly over distances of 5 to 10 meters, primarily to support sensors and industrial equipment in environments such as factories and warehouses.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is utilizing a partial report from the Information and Communications Council to develop official regulations for these systems. Compliance will be measured against the following criteria:
This initiative represents an expansion of the "Technical Requirements for Beam Wireless Power Transmission Systems." It modifies the existing framework by introducing technical provisions specifically for outdoor use, providing greater flexibility in installation locations and widening the range of industrial applications. Based on the October 2025 report, the MIC is currently developing the formal regulations that will govern the certification and type approval for these outdoor 920 MHz systems.
